What do they do? “The musical talents and prayerful conviction of His Majesty’s Musicians The hallmark of His Majesty's Musicians, is its members' ability to perform and lead a repertoire of Christian music ranging from the oldest sacred and traditional to the newest contemporary praise and worship. In churches, auditoriums, gymnasiums, conference centers, and retreat houses, HMM has provided lively, energetic, prayerful, and meditative music for liturgies, concerts, conferences, conventions, and retreats. Though HMM regularly provides music in concert and for other special events, one of the most rewarding activities for the group is providing music for parish liturgies. Near eighty years of liturgical music experience has been amassed by HMM's core trio and they truly enjoy celebrating with the faithful in each of the parishes they visit. While providing music for liturgies is a ministry for HMM, it can also serve as a fund-raising opportunity for parish groups. HMM doesn't charge anyone for this ministry, so they cover their various expenses by selling their tapes and CDs. To help them, they invite a group in each parish to sponsor their visit by making necessary arrangements, providing simple publicity, and staffing sales tables. In thanks, HMM gives a share of their proceeds back to their parish sponsors. During the last several years, that's been anywhere from three hundred to nine hundred dollars, depending upon the parish. When invited to visit a parish, HMM works in advance with pastors, pastoral associates, and/or music directors to ensure that they provide a balance of congregational and meditative music appropriate for liturgy.
