Who are His Majesty's Musicians?
The trio first met when all three were working in Eugene at various schools and parishes. George was a youth minister at St. Mary Parish, Rick was teaching at Marist High School, and Mark was a youth minister at St. Paul Parish. Their common vocations and love of music immediately drew them together and His Majesty's Musicians was formed. George has been singing in Church for as long as he can remember, and first learned to play guitar when his parish was looking for guitarists in the late 70's. He has been providing music for liturgy non-stop since then. George, his wife, and their four young children live in Eugene and attend St. Mary Parish, where George worked for nearly fifteen years. Rick learned to play guitar a few years before George, and for the same reason. He, too, has been providing music for liturgy continuously ever since. Rick has worked professionally with Catholic high school students throughout his adult lifetime. He holds a master's degree in theology. Rick, his wife, and two teenage children live in Springfield and attend St. Paul Parish in Eugene. Rick has been a teacher and campus ministry director at Marist for fifteen years. Mark, the "old man" of the trio, has been playing guitar and singing in church even longer than Rick. He has been an actor, radio voice, youth minister, and teacher in his adult lifetime. All the while Mark has kept a close connection to the Church. He also holds a master's degree in theology. Mark and his wife live on the outskirts of Eugene and attend St. Paul Parish. Mark is a teacher at Blanchet Catholic High School in Salem.
